Mackerel Curry With Onion ~ Ginger (Raja Alle Piyavu Gashi)

Raja Alle Piyavu Gashi With Narlele Tela ……. Mackerel Curry With Onion ~ Ginger And Seasoned with Coconut Oil ….. Served with Red Ukada Chawal / Red Boiled Rice ….. Yumz …. A typical Saraswat / South Indian Combination …..

Raja / Mackerel is a favourite fish I guess of most Indians. There are in all about 3-4 typical Saraswat curries prepared with this fish. One of them is “Raja Alle Piyavu Gashi With Narlele Tela / Mackerel Curry With Onion ~ Ginger And Seasoned with Coconut Oil” the other being “Raja Panna Upkari” a spicy dish. Both dishes have their own flavourful preparations and both are equally tasty. Gashi is a little bit less spicier than panna upkari. Also Gashi is much more healthier option considering the amount of oil that is needed for the seasoning of onions in Panna Upkari. Do try both, but for present go ahead with the gashi recipe.

I have posted both dishes before. So here I will just pass on the link to the same. So please follow the link to access the recipe of this awesome dish. This is a medium spicy dish with the strong flavour of ginger and coconut oil. Do prepare this dish and serve with any particular branded rice of your choice. Personally I prefer Red Ukda Rice / Red Boiled rice for Fish Curries. The choice of rice is yours, but prepare the curry as it is in the recipe and taste it before you make in changes coz. this one is traditional recipe and does not need any changes whatsoever.
