Kadgi/Kadge Podi/ Raw Jackfruit Fries.


Kadge Podi / Raw Jackfruit Fries ... A delicious crisp side dish that goes well with Dal-Chawal ... You can serve it as a snack or starter too ... Yumz ....


Remove the outer thick skin and cut the Raw Jackfruit into slices of 1 inch thickness and about 3 inch width pieces. Also remove the pith close to the inner part. Wash and pat dry. 



Mix to a thick paste with 2 tblsp of Rice powder, 1 tsp chiroti rawa, 1 tblsp red chilly powder, ½ tsp of hing powder, ½ tsp of tamarind paste / water (you can also add 1tsp of vinegar instead of tamarind), Salt to taste. 


Apply this paste evenly, without forming lumps on both sides of the jackfruit slices, covering all sides nicely. Arrange this on a plate and keep it in the fridge for 25-30 minutes.


Heat oil for deep frying in a deep kadai. Remove the raw jackfruit slices from fridge and immediately roll in rice flour lightly and put it carefully into the kadai for deep frying. You can add 4-5 slices at a time. Fry on medium heat till well cooked and crispy.


Remove on an absorbent paper and let the excess oil drain. Serve hot as an accompaniment to dal-rice or for any meal.
